Pura Vida Travels - A Guide To Travel In Latin America

I'm starting to see a pattern at the beach in Nicaragua. The only day the beach is ever crowded is on Sunday and this Sunday would be no exception. We decided to go to San Juan Del Sur again only this time we wanted to do some swimming. Something that surprised me was that the water was ice cold. The surf at San Juan Del Sur is incredible. I've never been anywhere where the waves break more perfectly than here. If you like to body surf it's nearly impossible to miss a wave here. I had another first here for myself as well in that I got stung by a jellyfish. The good news is that it only stung for about an hour and was more of a slight annoyance than anything else.

While we were in San Juan Del Sur there was a beach volleyball tournament going on featuring some hot commie babes from the college UNAN in Leon. Of course, I don't know for sure that they were commies but since they were from UNAN it's a pretty good bet they were. Not that it matters what they're politics are, I just like saying commie babes. :)

The restaurant we setup camp in for the day is called "Henry's Iguanas Bar". It's a nice little place and the foods very good as well. The messy baby belongs to a French couple that was hanging out there as well. It was a bit like the UN the day we were there because there were also people from Germany and Sweden also.

One of the neat features of San Juan Del Sur are the high cliffs that surround the area. On top of one of them there's a huge cross and I figured there had to be a way to get up to it. We drove around town for a bit and asked a few people but no one seemed to know how to get up there. It turns out that I was right, you can get up there. Finding the route isn't easy though. I would love to explain it to you but the best thing I can tell you is to just keep trying different roads until you find the right one. Oh, and don't try it without a 4 wheel drive vehicle...
