Pura Vida Travels - A Guide To Travel In Latin America

I decided to "culture" myself a bit so I went to the Museo De Antioquia to check out what was inside. (Antioquia is the "department" that Medellin is located in. A department in Colombia is similar to a state in the USA.) Unfortunately for me, the musuem turned out to be an art museum. Art is wasted on me. To be honest, I don't get it. On the upside it only costs $4 and it was a decent way to kill a few hours.

The entire 3rd floor of the musuem is dedicated to Colombia's most famous artist, Botero. He has a very interesting style and his stuff definately looks like something I couldn't do so it's "real" art in my book. (not that anyone cares what I think about art) I did take a little bit of video of his smaller paintings until the staff made me stop. I understand the no pictures policy because the flash fades the artwork but I didn't think they would have a problem with videos. Well, I was wrong and they did have a problem with it...

The entire plaza around the museum is filled with statues done by Botero. Again, I'm not an art fan but I think they're pretty cool looking. It's not dogs playing poker but it's still pretty good. ;)
