Pura Vida Travels - A Guide To Travel In Latin America

Because the wireless connection at the hotel didn't work in my room I had to work in the lobby. It wasn't a big deal because the hotel was pretty quiet during the day and the nice part was I got to know a lot of the other guests at the hotel. Dave from Texas was a lot of fun to hang out with and we went out on the town together several times. On one of our adventures we found the bar below and decided to use it as a backdrop for some photos.

I decided to take a ride into town on a mission to find some new soccer jerseys and I took some pictures along the way. It was an amusing ride because the cab driver was a very nice older man and I think he was genuinely excited to have a tourist in has cab. Medellin doesn't get many tourists because of it's reputation for having been one of the world's most dangerous cities. The guy showed me the jail and he very proudly showed me the Plaza De Toros which at the time I had absolutely no idea what he was showing me. It turns out this is the bullfighting stadium and a few days later I would be inside.

Wednesday night I went out to a club in Medellin called Deja Vu. It's a nice little disco packed with beautiful Colombian women. I met Eilena there and we had a great evening together. I can't wait to get back to Medellin to see her again.

On Thursday I took a ride to one of Medellins suburbs call Envigado. Envigado is a little ton with tons of shops, parks, street vendors, etc. I walked around for 3 or 4 hours just wandering in and out of the local tiendas and it was an awesome experience.

Friday was a very lovely day in Medellin. In the morning my amiga Olga dropped by to say hello and use the pool. Later in the day my amiga Melina came over and we went out later that evening for a night on the town. BTW, Postobon is her favorite "equipo" so buying the jersey was a good investment in community relations. ;)
