Pura Vida Travels - A Guide To Travel In Latin America

The scenery is just simply amazing as you ride along on the train. In many places it's similar to being in the American Southwest in that there are huge cactus plants. Unlike the Southwest, however, there are also coca bushes growing everywhere in the wild.

The train passes through some small towns along the way. Mostly they are small farming villages that are very poor. The one thing I didn't see the entire trip was a tractor. All of the farmers were using oxes to plow their fields.

Shopping By Train

When the train pulls into Ollantayambo you are greeted (big surprise here) by more people that want to sell you stuff you don't need. The one lady was selling those giant bags for $2. If I was in the market for a giant bag this would have definately been the place to get one.

After the train leaves Ollanyayambo they do a performance on the train followed by a fashion show. I have to point out that the girl doing the modelling only stopped to pose for 1 person on the train that was taking pictures and that person would be me. Thankfully, I have the video to prove it and I have to admit that travelling in Peru does wonders for my ego. ;)
